There has been a Salt war here, this week among the dealers, and lively times were experienced for a time. Jim Forbes began the jamboree by circulating some dodgers saying that be was selling salt for (1,25 per barrel. We believe, however, that the census of 1830 will show that a large underestimate is made on tbe figures OR Which ten delegates are claimed. A towhsliip like Linn will nut gain, but ratber'lose In population in the future. The rich farmeru are continually buying up the small farms offered for sale aud the population Is therefore decreasing each year. We fliluk that this will be found to be the case there as well as In the town of Geneva, while the villages have all received additions, mure or less.
